The mil rating on floor is easy to understand. Mil rating is the wear layer on the surface of each floor board.

The better the mil rating the longer your floor will last.

Mil ratings range from 6-12 on the lower end. These ratings are best for lower traffic areas

Mil ratings range from 12-40 on the higher end. These ratings are best for higher traffic areas.

We recommend 12-20 mil on most of our projects
